COMPARE/RESEARCH:
2. The two Presidents who have been impeached are Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. No Presidents have been removed from office. The Presidents that were impeached were both acquitted. This means that the Senate voted, and less than two-thirds of the Senate voted for them to be removed. President Richard Nixon resigned because he wanted to avoid impeachment.
3. If I had to eliminate three of the first ten Amendments, I would eliminate Amendments 2, 3, and 4. I would eliminate Amendment 2 because I think that if anyone can have a gun then many more people would be injured, but if there was a much more complicated and challenging process to get a gun, less people would have guns, so fewer people would get hurt. I would eliminate Amendment 3 because in times of war, if the war was going on in the United States, I think it would be the duty of the people to help in any way possible and quarter any needy soldiers. I would eliminate Amendment 4 because I think that police officers and government officials should be able to search you if they have any suspicions that you are doing or you have something illegal.

Citizenship:
1. "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
4. I think our founding fathers included the Electoral College in our election process to simplify the election process. Otherwise the amount of votes each candidate got would have to be exact in a close race and it would take a very long time to count every vote. If we had to count every vote that everybody submitted and add them all up, it would take more than a month to find out who our next President would be and that would be very problematic.

CURRENT:
2. In the Senate, there are 51 Democrats, 47 Republicans, and 2 Independents. In the House of Representatives, there are 241 Republicans, 191 Democrats, and 3 vacancies.
3. There is about 697,664 United States citizens per representative. The ratio of representatives to population in California is about 53 to 36,756,666. This ratio for Oregon is about 5 to 3,790,060. This ratio for Wyoming is about 1 to 532,668. This ratio for Nevada is about 3 to 2,600,167. This ratio for Alaska is about 1 to 686,293. Of these five states, the State that has the advantage as far as representation goes is Wyoming.
4. One current case that the Supreme Court is going to judge is gay marriage. This is being challenged because of California's Proposition 8 which bans same-gender marriage through the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which denies federal advantages to be given to legally married same-sex couples. The Supreme Court is going to review whether gay marriage is Constitutional and whether it is discrimination or not. I think that it should be legal but these couples should not get all of the federal benefits because people can have different feelings about each gender, but the majority of the population is attracted to the opposite gender.
5. Five important issues that Republicans and Democrats disagree on are their philosophy, their military views, where they stand on gay marriage, their views on the death penalty, and their opinions on abortion. The philosophy of Republicans is to be conservative while Democrats are generally liberal. On the issue of the military, Democrats want to decrease spending, but Republicans want to increase spending. About gay marriage, generally Republicans oppose it and Democrats support it. Republicans generally support the death penalty while the Democrats are split, some are for it, but some oppose it. Finally, for the topic of abortion, generally Democrats think that it should stay legal, but Republicans disagree and think that it should be illegal.
